Duais Iain Muir – Na Torran

Air Dihaoine 5mh Cèitean, choinnich sgoilearan à Acadamaidh Rìoghail Inbhir Nis, Acadamaidh Inbhir Pheofharain agus Àrd-sgoil Phort Rìgh aig ostail na Torrain san Eilean Sgitheanach. Tha na sgoilearan seo uile ag obair a dh’ ionnsaigh teisteanas Dhuais Iain Muir le Comunn na Gàidhlig.

Oidhche Haoine, às dèidh turas caran fada air meanbh-bhus eadar Inbhir Nis agus na Torran, ghabh sinn bbq ann an gàrradh an ostail agus chuir a h-uile duine eòlas air caraidean ùra.

Madainn Dhisathairne, chaidh sinn air turas bàta bho chidhe Ealghoil gu ruige Loch Sgàbhaig. Air an t-slighe, chunnaich sinn tòrr ròin a’ gabhail na grèine air na creagan! Choisich fad 15 mionaidean a dh’ ionnsaigh Loch a’ Choir’ Uisge, an locha ainmeil. Abair sealladh – bha an locha cho brèagha. Chuir sinn seachad uair a thìde gu leth an sin a’ cluich air a’ chladach anns a’ ghrian, ag ithe lòn pasgte agus a’ gabhail teòclaid teth. Bha dithis againn ag iasgach, cuideachd. Thìll sinn feasgar a dh’ Inbhir Nis air a’ mheanbh-bhus.

Chaidh an turas seo a chuir air dòigh airson cothrom a thoirt do sgoilearan coinneachadh ri feadhainn eile a tha a’ dèanamh Duais Iain Muir le Comunn na Gàidhlig agus cuideachd cothrom a thoirt dhaibh Gàidhlig a bhruidhinn fad 2 latha. ‘S e fìor dheagh thuras a bh’ ann agus ‘s e an ath rud a tha romhpa – an Tachartas Còmhnaidh (Duais Iain Muir) ann an Tom an t-Sabhail bho Dhiluain 12mh – Diardaoin 15mh Òg Mhìos. Tha a h-uile duine a’ gabhail fiughair ris.

Above are photos of the Inverness John Muir Award group, taken on Friday night at the Torrin outdoor centre. (4 of the pupils missing from the photo couldn’t make the trip). In the background is Blaven. It was certainly a great trip. Before this photo was taken, we had a barbecue in the garden of the Torrin centre, overseen by Donald and his good cooking skills! Finlay M and Finlay T had a shot at fishing in Loch Slapin (in front of the centre) since they had brought their fishing rods. No fish to be caught sadly!

The next morning, we drove in the Spòrs Gàidhlig bus to Elgol pier, for a 9.15am departure on the Misty Isle boat trip over to Loch Scavaig. The boat trip took half an hour and on the way we passed a large seal colony where the seals were basking in the sun! A short walk took us to beautiful Loch Coruisk (photo attached) where we had a picnic, skimmed stones, enjoyed the sun, and the boys fished from the rocks again.

Pupils from Dingwall and Skye also attended the trip and everyone made new friends. A larger selection of photos can be seen on the Comunn na Gàidhlig / Spòrs Gàidhlig facebook page.
