SHRAPNEL  (14+)

Ath-sgrìobhadh le Catriona Lexy Chaimbeul

Bhon nobhail Tormod Caimbeul

Stiùireadh Le Muireann Kelly

Air a’ stèidheachadh ann an dorchadas dubh Dhùn Eideann, tha sinn a’ siubhail le aithrisear neo-aithnichte ’s e air teicheadh bho chasaid murt. Tha sinn a’ leantainn ceumanan an aithrisear ’s e a’ siubhail air feadh a’ bhaile, a’ coinneachadh ri iomadach caractar annasach agus a’ seachnadh a’ phoileis bhrùideil, Walter Shrapnel.

Le fealla-dhà gu leòr, tha an dealbh-chluich stèidhte air an nobhail leis an sàr sgrìobhaiche, Tormod Caimbeul. Le dealbhachadh, fo-thiotalan agus ceòl, tha Shrapnel freagarrach airson fileantaich agus luchd-ionnsachaidh.

SHRAPNEL  (14+)

Adapted by Catriona Lexy Chaimbeul

From the novel by Tormod Caimbeul

Directed by Muireann Kelly

Set in Edinburgh’s deepest, darkest underbelly, ‘Shrapnel’ follows the journey of a man on the run, for a crime he did not commit. We follow our enigmatic narrator’s every step through the streets of Edinburgh, as he meets an array of extraordinary misfits, with the psychopathic former detective, Walter Shrapnel, never far behind.

With brilliantly anarchic humour, this theatre adaptation of Tormod a Bhocsair’s seminal Gaelic novel features animation, subtitles and live music and is for Gaelic and non-Gaelic speakers alike..

Siuthad S2 Gaelic agus Gaidhlig

Siuthad is a Gaelic careers event for S2 which encourages them to consider how Gaelic could be useful in their future careers. It will take place at Eden Court on Thursday 10th March. Pupils will be supervised by members of the Gaelic department throughout the day. Permission letters were sent home with all S2 Gaelic/Gaidhlig pupils a fortnight ago and should be returned to the Gaelic department by Friday. If anyone requires a new copy of the letter, they should speak their Gaelic /Gaidhlig teacher as soon as possible.

S3 Gaelic SCILT Business Brunch

A visit to Scilt’s Business Brunch held at the Kingsmills on Tuesday 26th January has gone down well with S3 pupils. Inverness Royal Academy was allocated 20 spaces – 10 Gaelic and 10 Modern Languages – at the event which aimed to promote language learning among pupils. Presentations and workshops were run in order to encourage pupils to view languages as an asset when applying for jobs. With the added bonus of tea, coffee and bacon rolls, the day has been highly praised by those who attended, with many saying they are now more likely to continue with language as they progress through the school. Chòrd an latha riutha gu mòr agus dh’ionnsaich iad tòrr!
