Duais Iain Muir

Chòrd Tachartas-còmhnaidh ri sgoilearan Gàidhlig ARI o chionn ghoirid. Am bliadhna choisinn clann à 7 àrd-sgoiltean ann an Alba Duais Iain Muir sa Ghàidhlig le Comunn na Gàidhlig. Bha sgoilearan a’ coinneachadh gach cola-deug aig àite fiadhaich ionadal, far an do rannsaich iad an sgìre is dh’ionnsaich iad mu ghlèidhteachas agus fiadh-bheatha. An uairsin thachair gach buidheann le chèile airson ‘tachartas còmhnaidh’ ann an Tom an t-Sabhail bho 9mh – 12mh Òg Mhios airson barrachd ionnsachadh, airson cur-seachadan spòrsail agus airson na teisteanasan fhaighinn.

Dh’ ionnsaich iad gur e Tom an t-Sabhail am baile as àirde air Ghàidhealtachd. Rinn iad rannsachadh air baile is air eachdraidh Thom an t-Sabhail. Rinn gach buidheann taisbeanadh aig an tachartas-còmhnaidh ag innse mun sgìre aca fhèin is mu na rudan a rinn am buidheann acasan gus na Duaisean Iain Muir a choileanadh.

Fhuair daoine cothrom air tòrr chur-seachadan spòrsail aig an tachartas-còmhnaidh, m.e. loidhne-dùbhlain agus Comas Coille. Bha ceilidh uabhasach spòrsail  air an oidhche mu dheireadh le cuid a’ seinn ‘s a’ pìobaireachd.

Bha 49 uile gu lèir aig an tachartas-còmhnaidh agus chòrd e ri sgoilearan à Acadamaidh Rìoghail Inbhir Nis a bhith a’ tachairt ri caraidean ùra. ‘S e an ath rud – Turas Ghlaschu le Comunn na Gàidhlig (27mh – 30mh Samhainn) a bheir cothrom do sgoilearan Dhuais Iain Muir 2015 a bhith coinneachadh a-rithist, ach bidh an turas cuideachd fosgailte do dhuine sam bith ann an S2-S4 a tha fileanta sa Ghàidhlig.

Lead by the youth organisation Comunn na Gàidhlig, a group of our Gaelic Medium students met with students from other secondary schools in Scotland and achieved their prestigious John Muir Awards through the medium of Gaelic recently. Each group had a local ‘wild area’ where they met fortnightly from January to June, discovering the area and learning about conservation and local wildlife. From 9th – 12th June, all the groups congregated for a four-day residential in Tomintoul for more learning, fun activities and to be presented with their John Muir Award certificates.

During the residential the students discovered that Tomintoul is the highest village in the Highlands. They researched the village and the history of the area one day by visiting the local museum and other places of interest. Every group gave a presentation at the residential, with photographs and videos, to show the other groups their local area and what work they had carried out from January – June to achieve their awards.

Everyone had a fantastic time at the residential and they got to experience many fun activities such as the Zip Wire park, Gorge Walking and Bushcraft. There was a cèilidh on the last night, with students showcasing songs and music.

There were 49 students in total at the residential and the Inverness Royal Academy pupils enjoyed making new friends from other areas. The next opportunity for the groups to meet with be ‘Turas Ghlaschu’ (Glasgow Trip) with Comunn na Gàidhlig (27th – 30th November) – fluent Gaelic speaking pupils in S2-S4 can register for this trip even if they didn’t take part in the John Muir Award 2015.DSCN1221

Cèilidh Dà-Chànanach aig Acadamaidh Rìoghail Inbhir Nis

4/6/15

Bha an cèilidh dà-chànanach aig Acadamaidh Rìoghal Inbhir Nis air Diardaoin 4mh den Òg Mhios bha e uabhasach math! Bha na sgoilearan ann an IRA agus Bun Sgoil Gaidhlig Inbhir Nis a’ seinn, a’ dannsadh agus a’ cluich ionnsramaidean dhuibh aig a’ chèilidh.  Bha e uabhasach sporsail agus bha na sgoilearan a bha an sàs bho BSGI agus IRA glè mhath!

The Gaelic Department organised a bilingual ceilidh in the IRA on Thursday 4th June, it was very good! The pupils from the IRA and the BSGI were singing songs, dancing and playing instruments at the ceilidh.  It was very fun and the pupils involved from the BSGI and the IRA were great!

A’ tadhal air BSGI

25/5/15

Chaidh Miss McLennan sìos gu BSGI airson leasan Nuadh-Eòlas a dhèanamh còmhla riutha. Dh’ionnsaich iad mun chuspair agus choimhead iad air naidheachdan an latha. Chan fhada gus am bi P7 còmhla rinn aig an Acadamaidh a-nis!

Transition lessons have been taking place with BSGI pupils.  Mrs Currie has already been to visit the pupils to give them an insight into life at Inverness Royal Academy and Miss McLennan visited for a lesson on Modern Studies.

S1 Gaidhlig aig an Airigh

12/5/15

Chaidh sinn dhan àirigh is bha e a’ toirt beagan ùine oir bha e cho fada air falbh ach bha e fhathast spòrsail. Bha sinn a’ stad bho àm gu àm agus bhiodh sinn ag ionnsachadh mu dheidhinn na craobhan neo na beinn. Nuair a rànaig sinn an àirigh bha sinn ag ithe lòn agus bha sinn a’ feuchainn ri cuir suas tepee ach cha robh e ag obair, leugh sinn bàrdachd an uair sin choisich sinn air ais. ’S e latha spòrsail a bh’ ann.

We went to the Shieling Project and we had a lot of fun. We walked to the Shieling and it took a lot of time to get there. When we arrived we tried to put up a tepee but it didn’t work. We listened to a story and then walked back. It was a very fun day.

An Taghadh Coitcheann

7/5/15

Tha S1 Nuadh-Eòlas air tòrr mòr obair a dhèanamh air an Taghadh Coitcheann. Dh’ionnsaich iad mar a tha pàrtaidhean a’ ruith nan iomairtean, mar a bhios tu a’ bhòtadh agus bha cothrom aig a h-uile duine am beachdan a thoirt seachad.

S1 Nuadh-Eòlas held their own General Elections by creating political parties and running campaigns. Everyone had the chance to vote for the party they felt would make the biggest difference.20150506_113226 20150513_112605 20150513_113042
